Gretchen Daily advises "having trust is paramount"

As one of the Leopold Leadership Institutes first fellows, Gretchen Daily has long been both a champion and an embodiment of some of the central ideas of the collective leadership framework. Among her many roles at Stanford, Daily currently serves as the Co-director of the Natural Capital Project, a program which aims to bridge the gap between conservation and economic forces. Recently, Daily sat down with James Leape as part of the Stanford Woods Institute for the Environment’s “Conversation” series and took the opportunity to reflect on her work with the Natural Capital Project and offer some key insights into some of the most meaningful lessons she’s learned over the years. Daily particularly highlights the importance of engaging with her peers and collaborators and building relationships on a foundation of trust.
